The only sound that the washer makes when it's in the sping cycle is the tick-tick-tick of the timer.

Does this mean that the motor is shot? is it worth me replacing it?

If it's the motor it is not worth fixing, but it may be the motor switch. Try replacing it and see if that fixes things. If you buy from this site and the part does not fix things you can return it.
