The compressor stopped working. It shows normal winding resistance and 3500 ohms winding to case. I wondered if this would be considered a "burnout"? Specificly if the drier has to be replaced too? The liquid line looks to be stainless steel. I'm unsure about how to braze that line to the new drier.

I ran into the same problem. The lines from the compressor were copper, then were joined to what looked like stainless. In my experience, joining these two metals is hard to do successfully. This is a problem on these models, and seems to leak at these joints. These joints have been put together with brazing rather than solder.
