The DW operates correctly, but dishes on upper rack have food particles left on. Started doing this recently at around 10 years old. I noticed the upper arm had a piece of cracked plastic where the water enters from the water stream from the pump. I replace the upper arm, but it didn't make any difference. I'm starting to think it has something to do with the water pressure from the motor.
Can anyone help? What should I try next?

So, I replaced the pump impellers in this Kenmore Ultrawash unit. But, I don't think that was the issue. As I was rebuilding the pump, I found the real culprit. There was a piece of vinyl (from rack repair vinyl tips) stuck in a small opening on the Filter Assembly. I think this must have reduced the pressure coming from the pump. Well, at least I learned how to work on the pump. Everything is back together now and working fine.
Lesson learned...make sure you glue down any rack repair tips - or perhaps use a heat gun to shrink them on.

I'm glad you were able to fix it. Such problem is unpredictable.
Gene.
