Dryer starts as soon as you turn the timer switch. I thought it was probably the start switch that was bad and replaced it but that did not resolve the problem. Can anyone advise what the possible problem could be?

With timer OFF, disconnect the start switch terminal with the two red wires. Make sure it isn't touching anything. Turn the timer on. If the motor still starts right away, the motor is faulty.
