The "cooktop on" light will not go out. All the burners work.
What is the function of the surface element switch?

Here are your parts
Parts for RF362LXSB - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

What is the function of the surface element switch
1. Regulate the power to the element
2. Turn on the hot surface light.
3. Turn on the cooktop on light.

The cook top on part of the switches are all wired in parallel so if one of them does not open the light goes on.
Therefore one of the L1 to P contacts is not opening when the switch is set to off.
