Hello,

I have a maytag MEDC200XW1. It will dry for a couple of cycles and then not dry for multiple cycles. If it heats then it won't turn off and runs all night. Luckily the heat did turn off.
I have tested the heating element, thermostat and fuses.

I am guessing the timer, but don't want to spend $100 on a guess.

Any help would be great,

thanks

Here are your parts

See the attachment for the wiring diagram.

When it ran all night and the heat shut off was it in timed dry or auto modes.

I am not sure this will help but the heater and the timer motor both run off of 240 volts.
So it sounds like you are loosing the 240 volts to the unit.

The heater gets power through timer contacts (R)A to B.
In timed dry the timer motor gets power through timer contacts T to F.
In auto modes the timer motor gets power through contacts T to X but it also runs though the motor centrifugal switch 2M and 1M. Also through the heater so the heater must be off for the motor to advance.

I would start bu checking the connections at the terminal strip in the unit.
