About a month ago my fridge started making a whining noise...and a few days later it stopped getting cold. My freezer works fine and the temp is adjustable. I lost my job around the same time, so I haven't been able to do anything. I tried lowering the temp, or doing turbo cool nothing makes it colder. It's working, just won't go below like 45 and sometimes goes to 50. It was always around 37-38. Any advice? Thank you!!

You need to determine if the evaporator fan is running when the fridge is running it's cycle.
Where did the whining noise come from? It could be the condenser fan underneath, or the evaporator fan inside the freezer compartment.
