The automatic defroster in my freezer isn't working. After following a troubleshooting guide I discovered everything seemed to be fine but only 64 volts of electricity flowing to the heater. Is that enough voltage, if not what causes the break down? Is it the defrost timer or something else? I noticed rust on the plugs to the heater itself, could this be the problem? Thanks

Hi. Are you measuring the voltage at the defrost heater terminals? Try to bypass the defrost thermostat and see if that will make a difference. If the voltage not going to change, replace the defrost timer. You need a minimum of about 110VAC to operate the refrigerator functions. Here are the breakdown diagrams and parts list for your refrigerator: Model TFX26ZPDAWW
The defrost timer Part number: AP2061695
Good luck. Please keep us posted with the results. Thank you, Simon.
