I have a Maytag MDG5806AWK, I was in diagnostic mode to check a no heat issue. The next day the control dial would not respond. When a cycle is selected the leds light up in sequence clockwise and then counterclockwise and it repeats indefinitely. How an I fix this issue?

Hi. In this case I would start with resetting the control board by unplugging the dryer for a couple of minutes and then replugging it back. See if that will help. Here are the breakdown diagrams and parts list for your dryer: Model MDG5806AWK
Thank you, Simon.

Thanks for the input, I left it unplugged overnight, same symptom. Although I do need to clarify, if off is selected the lights cycle through the dial and if regular is selected the lights go through each stage of the drying cycle in about 20 seconds.

Hi. The control board is acting up. I think you should go ahead and replace it. Remember, you can return any part that you don't need back within one year used or not used. The control board Part number: AP5956389
Good luck. Please keep us posted with the results. Thank you, Simon.
