Electric dryer gets too hot and shuts down. Checked for lint blockage and found none. Air is moving through the vent (very hot). Thought the Adjustable Dryer Cycling Thermostat part number AP3115922 may be the problem but website says this is not compatible with the model number (LE7680XSN2)

Hi. Please check the model number again. It supposed to be LE7680XSW2. That's why the thermostat AP3115922 shows as non compatible when in reality is a good part number for your dryer. Have you removed and clean the lint chute at the back? Get a thermostat preferably digital (it's more accurate and quicker). Disconnect the vent from the back of the dryer and install the probe in the vent outlet. Run the dryer and check at what temperature the heat element would turn of. Then compare with rating on the cycling thermostat. If it is off by far, replace the thermostat. Here are the breakdown diagrams and parts list for your dryer: Model LE7680XSW2
Good luck. Please keep us posted of the results. Thank you, Simon.
