I use my electric dryer weekly and do about 4-5 loads. Have not had a problem, and wouldn't expect to since the dryer is only 16 months old. I pushed the button and only got a buzzing noise. Not sure what that is about but sure not happy.

Does this sound like it might be something easy to repair? Of course, I would also like to keep low on expenses. I just can't believe this is happening in such a short period of ownership. My last dryer (Maytag) lasted 40 years. I would have gotten another Maytag but the installers from Home Depot told me to return it and get a flatback or it could not be installed. After 2 failed deliveries, the third one worked, took me 3 months to get a new dryer. Please help and thanks for any suggestions.

Are you able to rotate the drum fairly easy by hand? If so, then the problem could be the motor, start switch, timer or door switch. Most likely the motor but you should rule out the other parts first and this is done by taking voltage measurements while trying to start the dryer.
