This d/w filled up and flooded while power was off. Only thing I can think of is water inlet valve stuck open. Sound right? Now have to sponge water out of base as float switch must be tripped and now will not fill. What is the easiest way to access the base to remove water? Thanks in advance.

Hi.

Sounds like you are right on the money! The water inlet valve need to go. When you will pull the valve out you can use the opening to sponge the water out or use a small vet shopvac. Make sure the power to the dishwasher is OFF!

Replaced water inlet valve and haven't heard of any more issues.

Thanks Simon for your input!
