Hi all,

I have an Electrolux dryer that is being difficult. Sometime, on some cycle settings, the heat will kick on normally, shut off when it reaches a high enough temperature, then never kick back on. Sometimes the heat does not come on at all.

I do not think it can be a problem with the gas or the ignition, as whenever the ignition does click, the dryer heats as it is supposed to. I have thoroughly cleaned the vent and motor cavity, etc, and I can feel air flowing out the through roof vent, warm when the dryer is actually heating and cool when it's not.

The dryness sensor in the clothing compartment seems to be working as the cycle will run for hours before finally giving up, with the clothes partially dry. It seems unlikely to be the flame sensor since in works properly some of the time.

Should I be looking at the timer, the heating element/coils, other sensors, something else I haven't thought of?

Thanks

Dryer is actually 6 years old, not more than 10.
