My cooler control/thermostat is working intermittently. Sometimes it works fine and then others it does not and the fridge/freezer starts warming. To resolve sometimes I can adjust the fridge cold settings to zero and then back up to normal setting and sometimes it will kick on and sometimes not. Other times I can bump the housing where the thermostat sits and it will kick on. Is this thermostat bad, or could the connections to the thermostat from the controls just be loose? Trying to decide whether to get new thermostat before I open it up.
Thanks in advance

I had the same exact problem and fixed it by replacing the cold control (thermostat) this week. The fridge has worked great since.
It wasn't simply a loose connection as I removed and tested my part before replacing it.
The details of my issue are outlined in the recent Amana thread I started, in case you find them helpful.
