Two weeks ago, my wife noticed that frozen foods were thawing out. The condenser coils were dirty (* I cleaned them *) The only frost appeared on the first three lines and loops. The temperature inside the freezer is 35 degrees. The compressor runs; I can hear the refrigerant moving through the evaporator. The defrost heater and timing work. Is the board not allowing enough power to the compressor because of the burn spot? Should I replace the board or charge the system up and get a few more years out of it? (* Yes I can get a new one *)

Hi, Randy.

Thanks for such a good pictures, makes my job easier :). I would say that (unless the condenser fan motor is not running) that it's a sealed system problem, most likely the compressor is going bad. To diagnose this more precise you need to check the freon pressure in the system. It's hard to tell what circuit is burnt in the control board, but you can replace it and if this is not going to solve the problem, you may return the board to APP without any questions asked. Unplug the refrigerator before replacing the control board! Also, reinstall the evaporator cover back for proper air flow.

Here is the main control board: Part number: AP4481481
Part number: AP4481481

Thank you. Please keep us posted of the outcome.

Simon.

Wow!!! The board arrived this morning. Exceeded my expectations for delivery. However, the compressor did not come on with this board. I removed and installed the old one. Compressor cam on. Tried the new again. No compressor. I put the old one back on. Next step. tap the suction line and check its pressure.
