I recently purchased a Whirlpool washer and it has a new "feature" that it automatically drains after 10 minutes if the lid is up. The 10 minutes begins as soon as you hit Start. The washer fills rather slowly and sometimes is not fully filled when it starts to drain. When washing a delicate load my wife turns the washer on and then checks/sprays stains on the garments as she adds them to the washer. Its really annoying when halfway through the process, the washer stops filling and drains out all the water including the soap, or bleach, etc. Any ideas how to disable it? Even if it voids the warranty. Any help is appreciated.

There's nothing you can do about it. It's part of the computer firmware on the control board.

Iii have the same issue. It is so frustrating. Does anyone know the purpose of this automatic drain sequence feature? Why would they even program this into the washing machine? I guess I just don’t understand. All it does is run up my water bill from all the extra draining.
