I was taking out the old thermostat and shorted it out put the new one in now the fridge doesn't come on what could be the problem has a new thermostat installed as of now

I think you are missing the first 3 digits of the model number.

Kenmore numbers are usually 3 digits, a period and then 8 more digits.

How long have you waited?
It is possible that you are in a defrost cycle.
Wait at least half an hour.
