I have a couple of questions......I am trying to find a manual for this freezer. I know it is at least 35 years old. I found a parts diagram but that is it. Sears says it is manufactured by Whirlpool so I called them with no luck. I am also trying to figure out what the orange light on the outside of the door is for. I assume a power light? I thought it worked before we bought it but not 100% sure. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I believe it appears to be working fine now but the light still doesn't come on. . I have it on setting 4 out of 7 and it is 10 degrees inside. I was hoping someone knew about the light. Maybe I'll try some local shops?
