I have a 36" KitchenAid Built-in Refrigerator Model # KSSC42QMS01.

The Ice-maker has worked fine for years but yesterday it stopped producing ice.

I checked on the forum and after reading various posts checked the optics: I get 2 flashed followed by one second and whe I close the flapper the led is solid which seems to eliminate the optics.

I then removed the water filter, and rechecked the led: no light. I thought I found the problem (I have not changed the filter since a long time).

This morning there was some ice in the bin (2 or 3 batches), and the led is blinking one more time. Checked again closing the flapper, and I get a solid light.

Any idea what is going on?

Thanks for your help

The boards are checking good. You need to check the temp in the freezer. It should be 0 to 5° for proper icemaker operation.

Thanks for the quick feedback.

Temperature is below 0, I actually went to minus 3 and waited for 24 hrs and I have the same blinking led that goes solid when I close the flapper.

An ice batch has been made but not dispensed, and the water pressure at the water dispenser is fine.

Any idea of what to look for?

Thanks!

Since the boards are checking good, the next step would be replacing the icemaker in the unit. Here is a link to a previous form post to help you test the unit. http://forum.appliancepartspros...-working-kitchenaid.html Part number: AP4500681
