Hey gang,

My dishwasher is making a noise that sounds pretty awful and while doing some research to see if I could diagnose it, I stumbled upon this forum. Kind of hoping someone could help me.

It washes the dishes fine, the water is hot, it fills up, it drains, the dishes are dry afterwards. All that is good. It just makes this really loud noise during the cycle that I am pretty sure is coming from the motor.

I don't know if this is related or not, but a few days ago I noticed that one of our plastic spatulas had fallen through the rack and the handle must have gotten lodged in the spinning arm underneath. When I found it, the handle looked like someone tried to cut it in half with a hot knife. It was partially melted and I threw it out.

I completely forgot about that spatula until just now as I was typing this post and I think I may have just answered my own question......

What do you guys think?

Do you think I need a new motor or a new pump.
