One of the two felt liners on the drum (the one near the door) became loose and then eventually fell off. We've used the dryer several times since then, and I haven't noticed any issues. Clothes get dried.

I assume it performs some insulation purpose. Does anyone think it's a bad (or dangerous) idea to continue using the dryer without it?

The reason I'm considering using the dryer without replacing the liner is because I called Samsung and they said they don't sell the liner separately. I'd have to buy the WHOLE DRUM, for $200 ($400 to get it installed). So I'll buy a new dryer before doing that.
