Electric dryer GE model # DVLR223EE0WW.
The dial does not advance when using Optimum Dry mode. Timer does advance properly on timed dry mode.
Dryer generates heat on both settings, but dial does not advance /shut off with Optimum Dry mode. Can anyone advise what part(s) I need to inspect?
Thanks!

Check the power resistor next to the timer. Funny looking black device with two terminals. Should read about 4500 ohms.

Just checked the resistor & get 4500 ohms. What would you suggest next?

Then it appears that your drum outlet thermostat is not cycling. This thermostat opens and closes turning the heat elements on/off to maintain proper heat level. In auto dry, the timer only advances when this thermostat opens. You may have an air flow problem or a faulty heat element. There are two elements in this dryer.
