I have a fairly new Maytag microwave, and the micro switches that sense the door is closed properly are not working properly. Sometimes, when you open the door, the light inside the microwave does not come on (indicating the door is open), and as a result, if you immediately close the door (when the light is off), you microwave issues an error message saying the door is open. If you leave the door ajar for a few minutes, the light inside eventually comes on and the microwave will start if you close the door. Sometimes, when the light is out when the door is open, the light will "flicker" just before it comes on. Seems like one (or both) of the door micro switches are sticking, but eventually become operable.

Not sure which part(s) to order to remedy this problem?

Can you help please?

Thanks...Tom

You are pretty much going have to open it up and take a look at the door switches and the cams/interlocks. Look for a switch that doesn't "click" like the others do.

Take a look at this parts diagram.
