We purchased this washer used and upon plugging it in it is making a buzzing noise coming from the top of the machine. Even if the machine is powered off. When we initially went to use it the lights would intermittently flash and eventually stopped turning on. Any ideas?

It would seem as somewhere inside the console there is a short that is causing the problem. Take off the console and see if you can visually locate the problem. Check all of the wiring and the connections. If you cannot find anything it may be a short on the control unit.
