7 years old.
2 days ago It was making very loud clunking noise and now it will not even spin anymore. The basket is lose. I have heard of issues with the rear bearing being the problem. I had a repair man come over and tell me that it would be over $600 in parts alone. Said that the bearing and tub needed to be replaced. But he didn't take anything apart other the the metal covers to have a quick visual at it.
I have looked around and looks like you would have to take the basket tub out and seperate them to really see if its only the bearing that needs to be replaced ect. ? Would there be a possibility that by just replacing the bearing kit this could fix it? Some people on other posts said that you need to replace the whole tub/basket and bearing part but I thought I saw that it might be possible to just get the bearing seal kit? Here is a link to a video I shot just before it stopped spinning completely.

Thanks for any feedback!
P.S I ordered another washer from LG but if this one is fixable for a minimal amount of money I wouldn't mind venture into trying to fix it myself. I have a an empty room closeby that I could work in it.

So I've decided to take it apart tonight. Here is what I have found out when taking it the tub apart. I've included a link to some pictures. No wonder it wasn't spinning anymore!

So based on this, I think I would need a new basket (inner tub). and likely the outub as well.. Which would cost too much to be worth fixing it.

I'm in Canada New-Brunswick so the innter tub assembly alone would cost me over $400. Not counting whatever else I may need.

For the record, I have my own well and hard water. So that is most likely the cause of that corrossion. Now I need to have my water treated and a new washer! Oh well, lesson learned!
