GE washer leaves soap in drum at the end of the cycle

At the end of the wash cycle, I open the door an it is full of soap bubbles. I removed the top cover and watched another cycle. During the rinse cycle I noticed the diverter was in the soap position. I have noticed lately there is soap and softener left in the dispenser. Is this a possible software issue? It seams like it doesn't let a lot of water in, which leaves the soap and softener in the dispenser. I also ran the diagnostics which didn't show any error codes, but during the diverter test (t12) once in a while the diverter did not stop at the #1 position. I put an OHM meter across the end switch and it closed every time the cam activated it. I'm stuck????

It appears the diverter is not working correctly, but whether or not this is the diverter assembly on the control is unclear. You might have to change out the diverter on spec and see if that fixes things. If you buy the part from this site and it is not needed you can return it.
