I would like to thank Dick somebody for posting tub rebuild procedure on Neptune fav6800tl. I was able to perform this operation at a great savings and my wife still has a matching washer/dryer....now to the problem. the original problem was "out of balance code due to bad tub seal and rusty one way bearing". After rebuild washer works fine, never any codes but on a light load tub bangs on body 5 or 6 times [never enough to put up a code or stop]then continues on its cycle with no problems. I want to think the struts are bad allowing this to happen, but after reading on this forum for a while I've concluded it's never the shocks! Like everyone I wouldn't want to order 100.00 worth of struts for a machine this old, but it seems to have a lot of life left in it. I've checked level on machine and it seems to be fine although front legs are all the way down to the frame. tub rebuild was a couple years ago and with the exception of the occasional banging everything seems to be fine. thanks
