I need to replace the burner recepticles. That's easy if I can find the right parts. But I can't figure out how to open and lift the damn top cover. It doesn't just lift up.

When I open the stove door I can see there are bolts under the top. But it appears the control panel (where the stove knobs are) is connected to the top of the stove.

I'm scared to mess with it until I can get advice.
