This is happening for the sons time now in about 4 months. Basically, everything in the refrigerator side is freezing up, while the freezer side gets super-cold! So cold that the water dispenser line freezes up and stops working.

Last time I pulled out the damper (fridge side) and it appears to be a manual setting and working fine. Slid the cold control for fridge and could hear thermostat click, but had unit unplugged for 20 minutes or so.

Tried moving controls from cooler to warmer and vice versa but didn't seem to make a difference. I was thinking the thermostat may be sticking.

When I plugged unit back in everything seemed to fix itself, well until yesterday when it happened again.

I unplugged again for about 5 min, messed with thermostat control again (slide cold to warm multiple times), and this morning all is well again, water running in dispenser and all.

Thoughts? I'm thinking thermostat!

Thanks!

I agree with you at least that is what I would replace.

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

If just unplugging it had fixed the problem I would have gone for the controlo board.

Denman thanks! Well, I replaced the thermostat yesterday and it seems to be running much better! Will see if the problem arises again, but I think we got it!

Used to run these crazy cycles, now it seems the temp is actually controlling the fridge. I could slide the fridge temp up and down and the unit would continue running, now just a mild movement of the slider to a warmer temp shuts off the fridge!

Thanks again!
