Hi

I own an LG dishwasher, recently it wasn't providing hot water anymore. So I researched and found that the heating element was probably the culprit. I went on youtube and found a very good video on how to replace it on my particular model. Know that I am not the handy type at all but I got it done, water was coming nice and warm. But water started leaking a lot so with a flash light I found the leaking spot and it was at the heating element. So I pulled the dishwasher back out and removed the heating element again, reconnected everything and tightened the bolt a lot more.
Ran the dishwasher and still leaking. What is going wrong here?

I cannot say what thee problem is but following is what I would do.

See if you can find exactly where around the seal it is leaking.
Often a small mirror and a flashlight can help here. A mechanics mirror is ideal for this basically it is like a dentists mirror just larger.
Could be you have a defective replacement unit.

Then pull the heater and check where the lea is to be sure that the pump housing is not cracked.

With the heater out of the unit, tighten the bolt to see that the deal does expand evenly all the way around.
Also check that there are no cracks or nicks in it.

Check the pump housing where the heater fits to be sure that it is nice and clean.

When you install it make sure it sits nice and level flat in the pump housing.
Take extra care to hold it in position while you tighten the bolt.
