Intermittant Issue -- Icemaker and Water / Icemaker Dispenser stop working

My Whirlpool side by side icemaker stopped working. Ice was in the maker, but nothing would work. About a week later it just started working out of the blue. Two weeks later both the ice and water dispensers stopped working at the same time. After about 5-6 days they started working again without any parts being replaced. So currently all are working. The only think I can think of is that there must be a controller that controls the icemaker, as well as the water and ice dispensers. Note the icemaker was making ice fine while the dispensers weren't working. In both cases, the offending parts started working again without any parts being replaced. Which part is common to controlling both the dispensers and the icemaker -- that is intermittantly not working, or going bad? Would very much appreciate any advice as to which part I need to replace. I have purchased an icemaker, a few switches, the bracket that holds the switches -- but did not replace any of them because the functions started working by the time I received the parts in the mail.

I have a Whirlpool French door refrig with a similar problem of making ice then days wot making any. I isolated the problem using a ohm meter I discovered a micro switch in the icemaker timer is not working and not turning on the heater to loosen the cubes so they could be removed. The awitch is bonded to the timer and would be hard to remove..... I am looking for a small micro sw to replace it.
