I own a Frigidaire ES510 (Model GLEFM397DQA) electric range that will not heat the bake or broiler elements.
The bake and broiler elements have no visible signs of wear. The stove top operates normally. I removed the oven sensor and tested it for concurrency. The sensor registered 1060 ohms of resistance, which to my understanding indicates it is working properly. The oven is not indicating any fault code. I suspect the Oven Control Board is faulty.
Questions:
Is there any way to confirm that the Oven Control Board is the issue? Is there any other part I should be testing?

Here are your parts Parts for Frigidaire GLEFM397DQA Range - AppliancePartsPros.comHere is the wiring diagram. http://manuals.frigidaire.com/p...pringfield/316417716.pdfYou could check that both elements have continuity. Odds are that theyare OK as it would be very strange for both of them to fail at the same time. Check the wires to/from the elements and control board to make sure they are all OK. It looks like the control board has a DLB (double line break) relay for the L2 side of the line. This kills power (L2) to both elements. You could do a live test but this is dangerous as you are messing with 240 volts and it is lethal!!! P7 to P8 should be 0 volts with the oven off. P7 to P8 should be 0 volts with the oven on. If you measure 240 volts then you know that the DLB relay is not closing. I cannot say how dangerous doing this will be as I do not know how much room there is for meter leads etc. You could measure from the common side of the elements to L2 to get the same test points. Odds are very high that it is the control board. You may also need a new overlay as it looks like a peel and stick and they often get damaged trying to remove them. |
