My 10 year old KitchenAid fridge is freezing/cooling fine: fridge @38F, freezer @2.5F. However, it seems to "stutter/hiccup" and I suspect there will be a failure soon.

Compressor, condenser fan and evap fan are happily motoring along when a combination of hiccups/stuttering occurs: Compressor, condenser and evap fans all "cut-out" for either a split second (hiccup) or 1-3 seconds (stutter). No problem starting right back up after the hiccup/stutter (no clunking/clicking). It will hiccup/stutter for ~1-3 minutes then happily motor along for 30-60 minutes until the next batch of hiccup/stutters.

I cleaned the condenser coils and replaced the Start-Dev (2225929) which I believe is the start relay and overload. No change in behavior.

Any ideas on what to check next? Other posts seem to point to the thermostat assembly (2302286) but would appreciate any second opinions...

Thanks!

It's slowly and surely getting worse but cooling is still unaffected. The unit will enter a "fit" of starting/stopping for a few minutes then resume normal operation. I'm stumped... any ideas?
