Was given this oven. Prior owner broke the front burner tubes, ordered new ones (not here yet).

Oven is sparking on its own every 60 seconds or so. All four burners. Ordered new Spark Module, installed, and its STILL randomly sparking.

Very aggravated spending $64 on the module... searched this sight and not finding how to isolate the issue. Double checked ground, house ground, cord ground all good. Removed knobs but impossible to see the "range burner switch" and do not see easy way to inspect those switches.

Help... I just spent $90 for the front burner tubes and the spark module, so wondering if i should scrap this or if this is worth it. Oven is EXTREMELY clean, but I don't want to spend the equivalent on a new oven fixing this one...

Hi USCGcpo,
It's likely the switches behind the knobs. They clip down on top of the valves.
If they get cleaning supplies, grease, or gunk in them they won't return home like they're supposed to. Also, as they age they lose some of their spring tension that turns them off when you turn off the valve.

My money is on the switches.

As far as testimg them, you'll need to gain access to the switch, remove at least one wire and place a probe on each side of the switch while testing for continuity. The switch should naturally be closed and then when you turn the valve on it should show continuity. However, in your case with it being intermittent - it may test fine but fail during real life.

well... I'm assuming since the stove was outside in the garage it was a humidity issue, with the new module its now in the kitchen and no longer randomly sparking, with the new spark module its a stronger spark so i don't feel I wasted money on that. Now I have a LF burner issue with it flaring and then sounding like a blow torch. I think its igniting at the orifice itself as there is soot inside the Burner Head tube on the backside, making me wonder if its an alignment issue...
