Have a standalone ice maker with an issue. I included the model number, but it doesn't show in any finder, but it is the same whirlpool one that is common everywhere.

Long story short, it fills the water pan, but cuts the water too late, overflowing into main ice bin. It actually fills the water pan, shuts off the water for less than a second at the correct water level, and then turns the water back on for 15 more seconds, with water overflowing the pan, and then kicks off again.

I've already replaced the control board, which did not fix it. I cannot see any water level sensor in my ice maker, unless it is built into (hidden in) the water control valve assembly. I am thinking replacing that valve assembly might be the next thing I try, but I was wondering if anyone knows if that has a water sensor in it somewhere.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Just sio you know, I have no experience repairing these.
With luck someone else will jump in who has worked on them.

You seem to be missing the first 3 digits. A Kenmore model number is usually 3 digits, a period and then another 7 or 8 digits.
Searching even using a wildcard produced nothing.

Perhaps the following will be of some use to you.
You will have to join the site and be logged in to be able to download a manual.
http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php

Once logged in go to the Manuals section, they have a section on Ice Makers with a little luck you can find a unit that is a match to yours.

Note that Kenmore does not make anything. The first three digits in a model number is what tells you who made the unit so it will take a bit of searching.
