Hey folks, thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer.

I have the dryer mentioned above with a heating problem. When I turn on the dryer, the drum heats for the first few minutes of the cycle and then stops heating. The drum continues to turn. The vent stack was cleaned from the flex pipe up to where it exits the home. After the first few minutes and the heat cuts out you can hear a faint buzzing coming from under the dryer. The buzzing lasts 10 seconds in duration and at 60 second intervals. I have gone as removing the top cover and lower rear vent cover to assure all electrical connections accessible are secure. I have no problem replacing the part(s) that are defective, I would just like to narrow down what part could be the issue without having to order multiple parts to see what sticks.

I should also note my wife has always used "timed dry" because she was never satisfied with sensor dry's capabilities.

Again, thank you for your time.

I have a Samsung gas dryer, and I'm having the exact same problem. The dryer heats up at first, then cools down and runs cold.

If you found out what the problem was, can you please share? I, too, am mechanically and electrically inclined, so I have no problem taking the dryer apart and replacing part(s).

Thank you so much in advance!

I sure did!

It was the ignitor coils on the gas valve. 18 bucks got me back in business instead of a 90 dollar valve assy.

I have a Samsung DV218AGB/XAA and it was having the same issue (less the noise). I found this post and decided to try it. However, when I called Appliance Part Pros they said it didn't appear from this site that I would be able to order just the "Dryer Gas Valve Coil Kit."

However, when I looked at the actual valve in the Samsung dryer, Whirlpool's logo was on the valve. So it seemed safe and I ordered the Valve Coil Kit. I just now put it on and it works! Thank you for posting this. Oh, and also, order from Appliance Parts Pros, I'm sold on their service and return policy. They seem like a great group company to work with.
