Yesterday morning the door adjar alarm started going off with the doors closed. After verifying that the doors were infact closed tightly, and whiping down the door seals to ensure proper closure, I unplugged the unit from the wall, waited 2 minutes and plugged it back in. The alarm no longer activated and everything appeared to be working fine until much later that night I noticed that the inside temperature of both the refrigerator and freezer were higher than the set temperatures.

Last Night
(freezer- set: 6 deg F, actual: 33 deg F // refrigerator: set: 39, actual: 45)

As I began checking the unit, I did notice that the interior lights come on when the doors are opened and that I could hear both the evaporator and condenser fans running (which if I am not mistaken indicates the unit is not in defrost mode). I pulled the unit away from the wall and removed the back pannel from the outside of the unit. The compressor felt warm to the touch (which if I am not mistaken indicates the the compressor is working and the starting components are good).

I thoroughly cleaned all the dust away from from the compressor and condenser coils, and inspected the inside of the freeze for frost - non found. I turned the unit back on and it allowed it to run the remainder of the evening to see if it would cool - however when I got up this morning, I found quite the oposite.

I was told by someone on another site that it could be the tempature sensors within the unit not operating properly and to just replace those; but if that were the case, wouldn't the control head display inacurate temperature readings as a result?

As everything (other than the temperature) seems to be working fine, I fear the unit may have a tiny refrigerant leak somewhere. I do have a set of manifold gauges, but did not see any service ports. But I pray this is not the case, and that the fix will be quite simple. Any ideas?

Kind of sounds like we're having similar problems. Would you let me know if you find out what the problem is and I'll do the same. Thanks

Adding to someone eleses post when yu have a different model wil just confuse things.

I would not replace the defrost timer till you do more troubleshooting.

Is the compressor running? Usually you can hear it but should also be able to feel it vibrating.

Check to be sure that the condenser/compressor fan runs.
Check that the evaporator/freezer fan is running.

Does the compressor run all the time other than when the unit goes into a defrost cycle?
Or is it cycling quickly or is it cycling normally (10 to 30 minutes on and then off for quite a while.

If all the above are on, remove the cover in the freezer so you can inspect the evaporator coils.

If they are heavily iced/frosted over then you have a defrost problem. This could be the timer, the defrost heater or the defrost thermostat.

If there is no frost or just frost in one area then it is probably a sealed system problem.
