Hello Forum. I have a Maytag double electric oven that the heating element was not working on the upper oven. I checked the continuity of that element and it was in working condition. I then checked the wires going to the element and only had power to one side. I checked the continuity of the wire that showed no power and it checked out so the problem is/was the control board. I just replaced the control board and now when I set the oven, both upper or lower ovens, to bake or broil, set the temp, in about 4 seconds I hear two beeps and the oven shuts down. Is this a bad control board or do I need to reset something. Thanks for any help. Matt

Here are your parts Parts for Maytag MER6751AAW Range - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. If the original problem: 1. was the broil element in the upper oven then it may have been the hi-limit thermostat. 2. If the upper oven showed it was ready then it could have been a oven sensor problem. Your current problem does sound like a bad control board. See the tech sheet and run the diagnostics and resets. |

Hi denman. Thanks for the reply. The original problem was the upper oven bake element. I removed the element and check resistance which was in specs. I then checked both upper and lower oven temp probes and they were in the spec range. I checked the power coming to the bake element thats not working and it had power to only one side. I checked the resistance on the wire leading to the no power side and it was good. so the power is not getting to the element from the control board. all the stove top burners work along with the clock. I don't get any codes or anything. I just get 2 beep and the oven turns off after 4 seconds. I put the old board back in just so one oven would work and now that is doing the same thing. so now i have no ovens. is there some reset buttons or something I;m not doing. I have a call into a service guy but I live out in the sticks and I haven't heard back from him. Thanks again. Matt

The following should reset it to factory defaults.
Press and hold Upper Cancel and Warm pads for 3 seconds. |

Hi denman. I have done that and nothing changed. I wasn't able to open the pdf file that you posted, but found an online service manual for my oven. here's the link Maytag MER6555AAB Service (Page 19 of 85) I may have screwed it up even more. I tried to see if maybe it was in "child lock out" mode (page 19) and it wont come out of that mode. doors are locked and it won't change it back. Manual says it should default back after a power failure, so I unplugged it and it comes back on still locked. I swear i'm my worst enemy. still waiting for a call back from the service guy. any more ideas while i'm waiting. Might be turkey dinners at Denny's this year. Thanks Matt
