I am confused about the problem our machine is having for a couple of reasons. It has been making to much noise the last couple of months while running but I can't tell you whether it was the pump or what it was, just to loud and not normal noises like it used to. Now, last night, after it had filled and I believe drained, it started making a beep, pause, beep sound. Wife shut it off and tried to start it back up and nothing. No lights coming on at all. Waited for a few minutes and tried again, on light comes on as if it is going to start up but about 30 seconds later, light goes off and nothing. Can't get any switches to work until you wait another 30 seconds or so and then same thing all over again. I have tried doing some research on the net and wondered about it being the Thermal Fuse but I cannot find a Thermal Fuse for this particular model, it only lists a Thermostat! I don't know if works in a similar fashion or not or whether I am even considering the right part to order. My fear is that I may get the correct part only to find out I need a pump or something too but don't know how to diagnose anything without getting it to run. Hope this makes some sense. KitchenAide tells me they can send out a tech. who will repair whatever the problem is for 267.45 and give me a year warranty along with that. I am considering that but wanted some input from you experts before I go any further. Thanks so much for the help!!

I cannot find any info on the given model number. Please check it. I tried here, Sears and the Whirlpool site
Try removing power from the unit for several minutes to see if it will reset. |

Try removing power from the unit for several minutes to see if it will reset. That is the correct model number. Might change the 1 to an I though and give that a try. I think I have good news. I was initially quoted 267.45 to have a technician come out and diagnose and repair along with an extra year warranty. I called them back and they then told me it would actually be 288.00. Told them that wasn't being fair to me since I was quoted the 267.45 a few hours before. Told me it was all what the computer was saying. I elected not to get it and contacted KitchenAid via the internet and talked to a nice customer service person who told me, finally, that it wasn't that far out of warranty and they were going to send someone out to fix it for us FREE!! Stay tuned so I can let you know what the problem is! Thanks!
