A couple of weeks ago, Auto Clean turned on by itself. Turned off oven but oven locked and finished Auto Clean. Then oven unlocked and everything has been okay for a few weeks.
While cooking Brownies last night, Broiler element turned on by itself. Took out burnt brownies and tried to turn off oven. Even when turned off, Broiler element would not stop heating. Had to turn breaker off.
Obviously an electrical issue, just didn't know if I have to call a pro. When I turn breaker back on, Broiler element starts heating WITHOUT oven being turned on. Only "code" that comes up says (pf).
Any thoughts before I put it out of its misery ???

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool GR399LXGQ1 Range - AppliancePartsPros.comI am assuming that the broil element heater fairly evenly along it's length, not just part of it. Sounds like the control board/timer (item 12 in section 05) needs replacing. Looks like it may only be available in black but you would have to check with a parts representative to confirm this. |
