Have a Magic chef MCC7WBX freezer that just stopped working. The green light is on that sais it has power, but the red light does not come on for cooling. I turn the dial settings dial all the way up and down and nothing. Not even a click. I checked voltage to the dial , is going in at 120 volts. No power whatsoever going to the compressor. Any ideas what part or parts I would need ???

How did you check this?
If you checked across the thermostat contacts and saw 120 volts then the contacts are not closed and the thermostat is probably the problem.

There are a couple ways to double check this.

Unplug the unit and measure across the thermostat contacts using resistance. Should be 0 ohms.

Unplug the unit and then the two wires from the thermostat and sh0rt them together. Be sure they make good contact to each other and cannot short to anything else. Then plug the un it in if it starts up you know it is a thermostat problem.

I did short the two wire sets going into the thermostat and the compressor started running. Thinking this may be the culprit !!

Ordered the new thermostat, installed it and freezer started. But keeps running. Turn thermostat to lowest setting and nothing happens. There is also no click in the thermostat. ???? Could it also be faulty ??

Does not really mean that it is bad.

Always a possibility.

Check the temperature in the freezer.
Should be 0 to 5 degrees F.
If higher then the thermostat is doing what it should.
Trying to get the temperature down to set point.

You are correct sir. After temperature came down to -1 it started to work. Seems to be working just fine. The red running light appears to not work anymore but the green light does. But I can hear it turn on and off so it is working. Don't really need a light to tell me its working anyway. Thanks again.
