The detergent dispenser quit working this week. I recently repaired the control panel and then the soap door quit working. I check the resistance across the wax motor and it read 3 ohms. I assume there is something wrong with the motor, since the data sheet says it should be ~300ohms. I checked to see if I could get a new solenoid and it looks like they want me to buy a whole new dispenser. Anyone know of a cheaper way to do this, or a way to make sure it's not my control board? Thanks!
Sears doesn't have terrible price, $50, but a $10 fix would be a lot nicer.

I do not think it is a wax motor. Looks like a solenoid to me.
In any case if it is 3 ohms then it probably also blew the control board triac.
I cannot find just the solenoid so you have to buy the assembly. |
