the lower vent inside on back wall will frost over completely allowing temps to drop and meat to thaw. When it first happened we called Whirlpool. they said if packages are up against it, this will happen. We kept packages away from it. Next time it happened, it was out of warranty. Got the "So Sorry" reply from Whirlpool. This has now happened 3 times. Any ideas on what to look for?? Greatly appreciate any help. Freezer is less than 2 years old.

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool EV200NZBQ00 / Freezer - AppliancePartsPros.comThe above is for a BQ00 not a B000. How did you fix it or did it just fix itself? Sounds like it could be a defrost problem. To confirm this you would have to remove the cover in the freezer so you can inspect the evaporator/freezer coils. If they are clogged solid with frost/ice then it is a defrost problem. If the problem fixed itself then it is intermittant and a couple parts are the most likely culprits. First I would inspect the defrost thermostat which will be clipped onto an evaporator coil near/at the top. If it is deformed/bulged then I would replace it. Also could be that the defrost timer is not operating correctly. I am assuming that there have not been ant issues with leaving the door open or ajar. |

Thanks for the link and info. Model # has a scratch through it right where the O would be a Q. Made note of that. Door has not been left ajar. That was our first thought as well. Will try to check this out over the next weekend.
