I have a G.E. glasstop slide-in oven that is not functioning properly. The burners work just fine on the cooktop but the oven controls will not come on until one of the burner switches is turned on. The keypad was non responsive at first so I replaced that then but it still would not illuminate until the burner switch was turned on. I replaced the control board next and am having the same issue, the oven nor the control panel will do anything without the burner switch being on even with new parts installed.:confused:

Here are your parts Parts for GE JSP47BF4BB Range - AppliancePartsPros.comSorry for not replying sooner but I was hoping that someone who had a wiring diagram/tech info would reply. Sounds like a power problem. When you turn on a stove top element the other side of the line or Neutral feeds through the infinite switch and then powers the control board. I would start by checking the power. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. Check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Do this with the heater off and on. [COLOR="Red"]Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!![/COLOR] |

I found the problem was with the outlet. I have several outlets to test different appliances ( I have a thrift shop) and there was a loose wire on one outlet. The touchpad was bad but I was able to return the control board. Thanks for the help!
