I replaced the control panel 3-weeks ago and dishwasher worked good. It quit in the middle of a wash the other day. I removed the thermal fuse and checked across it with an ohm meter and it shows to be open. Can I install a fuse in its place to make sure I can get the machine back on before ordering another thermal fuse? Thermal fuse has a shunt capacitor that I'm not sure what it does. Any ideas? I sent this question in directly but I never got a response.......

You will see that the replacement fuse comes with a new wire harness connected to it. You must use the new harness if you don't want more problems. The new harness has a larger size wire in it, which is a big part of the reason your fuse blew to begin with. I would not take a chance with anything other than the proper parts. Replacing your house could be the result.
