I have Maytag gas dryer model #DG 482 serial # 828747RE and I have a problem with leaking internal shut off gas valve part #AP4290403. The valve is leaking gas at the knob side. This shut-off valve is unavailable anymore. The thread connections at both sides are ok.
Can I take shut off valve apart and fix the leak by replacing either washer or fix it some other way?
Thank You

Get the numbers off the valve and then search Google using them, perhaps you can find one.

If there is no joy take it to a appliance parts seller.
If you get a experienced counter person then they may be abl to find a similar unit.

Places that sell gas furnace parts may also have a valve that would do the job.
