Have a 1995 KitchenAid (Whirlpool) washing machine # KAWE665BWH0 that the cloths aren’t spinning as dry as they did before. I can’t tell any difference between how fast the drum spins now than it did before. When it is spinning I don’t see any water standing in the drum so I am stumped. I hope someone has seen this before, the machine uses AP pump # AP2908525 or Whirlpool (Kitchenaid) pump # 3363892. This machine is original except for a couple of springs that were replaced on the base assembly.

Fairbank56 thank you for your fast reply. I will have to watch the repair video to see how difficult it is to remove the drum and parts to get to the clutch. This might turn into a new washing machine shop tripping trip. LOL

If it is draining ok then the likely problem is that in a machine this old the clutch lining is worn out. Here is the part Part number: AP3094538
and there is a nice video that will show you how to change it out. It is not a difficult job but it will help to have a helper

No, absolutely not. Just make sure the inside of clutch housing is clean and dry and that when you put it back together the brake cam is in the proper spot.
