My refrigerator will freeze the contents on the top section from time to time. We lowered the temp but made no difference. I have noticed ice build up right below the vent on the top left of unit. What part(s) has failed?

Probably a sticking freezer control on the left of the control panel.

I just replaced a few of the damper/ diffuser assemblies, the item with the motor, rather expensive. it's common for the switches to gum up on these along with the control you replaced.
