When you push the start button, you can hear it cranking, but it will not start. after about 5 times of trying you smell something electrical and then the start button does nothing until you wait for it to cool down. They the same scenario.

Are you able to rotate the drum by hand? I'm assuming the motor is just humming and not actually rotating at all? Take the belt off and then see if it will start. If not, could be a faulty motor switch. Does the heat come on with timer on even though motor will not run?
