How large is the flame supposed to be? Here is a video, does this look correct? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...9cI&feature=youtu.beWas on LP and I received 2nd hand, tons of soot in the dryer. Scrubbed it clean then I converted to natural gas and this is what my flame looks like. I dont know much about dryers, but it seems to large.

Did you use the proper size orifice fitting and valve cap. The natural gas size is usually a .093 diameter. Maybe someone drilled it out to a larger opening. The LP gas orifice is a lot smaller. It may not be wrong as regards flame size. This is very hard to evaluate. Maybe you can get a look at someones elses gas dryer in operation and check the flame on it .
